• Lindsey Ueberroth's Packing List
  • JFK Terminal 4 has an underutilized security line. It is on Level 1 near baggage claim and rarely has a line.
  • Place a dryer sheet in your luggage to keep garments fresh.
  • If you text your flight number to someone, they can hold down the flight number, and your up-to-date flight information will automatically appear. You can also text yourself to monitor your flight this way.
  • Keep a FedEx outer plastic envelope in your suitcase to use as a lint brush.
  • Put one of the shoes you’ll be wearing on your departure day in your safe so you won’t forget to empty it.
  • Bring hotel toiletries home, place them in a bag, and donate them at the end of the year.
  • If you need more bottled water in your hotel room, stop by the fitness center. Many hotels offer complimentary bottled water or at least a water filling station.
  • “MPC” Mobile Passport App: Not available at all airports, but if you are arriving from another country, check if they have MPC. This line is usually much shorter than Global Entry, and you don’t need Global Entry to use it; you just need to download the app.
  • Use Google Translate by using your phone's camera to translate any menu, sign, or anything else you need translated.
  • Packing cubes, compression cubes, and AirTags are useful for organizing and tracking your luggage.
  • Excel Spreadsheet Packing Guide: Lindsey Ueberroth will be posting her spreadsheet.
  • Rome2Rio App: This app will tell you the best options and costs to get anywhere.
  • Use SeatGuru.com to select your seat for long-haul flights.
  • Download a currency converter app to handle money conversions.
  • If you want to make your butter more spreadable on a plane (as it is always served rock hard), place it under the hot dish they serve you for 20 seconds.
  • Shower caps can be useful as shoe covers/bags, or for covering an odd shaped dish in the kitchen or food in your hotel room.
  • When traveling internationally, visit a comedy club to gain a better understanding of culture.
