Amy Butterfield is Senior Vice President of Global Group Sales for Preferred Hotel Group, overseeing the efforts of group sales for the Preferred Hotels & Resorts and Beyond Green brands. In this role, Amy is responsible for conceptualizing and hosting various events around the world and managing a global team of group sales professionals.
Amy joined the company in 2015 as Director of Group Sales, responsible for managing the Midwest Incentive Market, and was promoted to Senior Director of Group Sales in 2018 before assuming her current role in October 2019. During her time with Preferred, Amy has been a top sales performer year after year and has received numerous industry accolades for her work, including being named “Inspirational Partner of the Year” by BI Worldwide in 2018 and “Outstanding GSO Partner of the Year” by MotivAction in 2019
An award-winning hospitality industry veteran, Amy previously served as Director of Sales for Associated Luxury Hotels International (ALHI) covering the Southern California Market , and received the President’s Award for four consecutive years. From 2006-2011, she worked for The Grand Del Mar as a National Sales Manager, and was awarded Top Producer for four of the five years she worked with the resort. Prior to moving into the group sales sector of hospitality, Amy spent 15 years as Director of Catering & Convention Services for Hyatt Regency La Jolla.
A current member of the Society of Incentive Travel (SITE), Amy has been a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) since 2008 and became a Certified Incentive Specialist (CIS) in 2017. Amy attended Wellesley College in Boston for two years, and graduated with a B.A. in Political Science from UC Berkeley. She is based in the greater San Diego area.
