With over 25 years of experience in the international hotel industry, Mr. René Zimmer has held leadership positions at properties such as the Grand Hotel Europe in St. Petersburg, Russia, and La Residencia in Mallorca, both part of the Belmond Group. Since April 2009, René has been the Managing Director of the award-winning Finca Cortesin Estate, which includes a hotel, spa & wellness resort, private suites & residences, a championship golf course (host of the 2023 Solheim Cup), located between Marbella and Sotogrande in Andalucía, south of Spain. René Zimmer is also responsible for all operations at the hotel company "Finca Cortesin Hotels & Resorts,” managing the newly inaugurated Grand Hotel Son Net in Mallorca for over four years. This 17th-century restored palace, nestled in the Serra de Tramuntana, features 31 suites and cottages, the finest local gastronomy, a private Malvasia vineyard, and a spectacular 1,000 sqm spa & wellness facilities.
